You will find that by just drinking enough water each day, you are giving your body the most important ingredient to keep it functioning properly and to help prevent sicknesses.

I hope this post will inspire you to drink more water. If you are ready, let’s dive into it!

Hi there!

Happy new week! This week I wanted to talk about hydration and the benefits of drinking water. I found that to be able to take good care of yourself, you need to pay attention to every part of your body and hydration will help with that.

As you know that self-care practice is super important nowadays and in every stage of your life. If you start practicing self-care at a younger age you will look and feel better than people who start theirs years later. With this being said, drinking enough water will help your skin and every part of your body to feel happier and fresher.

For me personally, water is my worst enemy. I grew up not drinking a lot of water and I thought I was fine. Even though I got dizzy sometimes, but I didn’t know that was because I was dehydrated.  I knew I was suppose to drink at least 8 glasses of water, but I still didn’t make it as a must each day. I never knew the dangers of dehydration until I moved to Arizona.

Since being in Arizona, drinking enough water is very important. However, for me it’s so hard to drink plenty of water each day as I was not use to the mentality of drinking water and I usually get caught up in my day that by the end of the day, I forget I need to drink something!

After learning about the many benefits of drinking water, I wanted to start taking care of myself more in this area. Even though I’m bad at drinking water, I found ways to drink at least 8 glasses of water and have been doing that for a few weeks now.

In today’s post I share the benefits of drinking water with you. I hope this will inspire you to drink more water. Below, I have listed 15 benefits that I found from Medical News Today. You will find that by just drinking enough water each day, you are giving your body the most important ingredient to keep it functioning properly and to help prevent sicknesses.

According to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, women should be having around 11.5 cups and men should have around 15.5 cups of water each day.

I created a 7 Day Hydration challenge Tracking sheet that will help you to try and get your hydration in. Let’s start with 8 glasses each day and work from there. The sheet is up for you to grab on my library.

15 benefits of drinking water

  1. Makes your joints healthier. Your joints are made of 80% water and drinking water will help to lubricate them.
  2. Maintains your saliva and mucus. We need saliva to digest food and mucus to keep the inside of our nose healthy. Also, drinking water keeps your mouth clean and can reduce tooth decay.
  3. Delivers oxygen throughout your body. Our blood cells are over 90% water and our blood can help carry oxygen to different parts of our body.
  4. Makes your skin healthier and more beautiful. By not drinking enough water, your skin can be vulnerable to skin disorders and premature wrinkling.
  5. Let’s your brain, spinal cord, and other sensitive tissue function properly. With prolonged dehydration, you can suffer from thinking and reasoning problems.
  6. It controls your body temperature. We sweat to cool off our body when we get too hot. Not having enough water can lead to a lower tolerance to heat strain.
  7. Your digestive system needs water to work properly. Not drinking enough water can lead to constipation, over-acidic stomach and increased risk of heartburn.

8. You need water to not only sweat but to remove urine and feces.

9. Blood pressure is dependent on the amount of water in your veins. To little water can make your blood thicker and thus causing increased blood pressure.

10. It makes your airways more open. Too little water can make your body start to restrict your airways to minimize water loss. This can lead to asthma and allergies.

11. Water makes it possible for us to digest the minerals and nutrients that our bodies need.

12. Your kidneys need water to function properly and help to regulate fluids in your body, too little and your chances of having kidney stones increase.

13. It can help with performance during exercise. Some scientists say having enough water before a workout can increase performance and not having enough will lower your performance.

14. You can have a better chance of losing weight if you drink plenty of water before a meal. By “preloading” on the water before eating, you can prevent overeating and create a sense of fullness.

15. By alternating your alcoholic drinks with unsweetened soda water with ice and lemon can reduce your chance of overconsuming alcohol.

3 Mood Uplifting Tips to Help You Stay Happy

3 Mood Uplifting Tips to Help You Stay Happy

Feeling down or unhappy lately? Today I share three doable tips to beat the blues here on All About Good Vibes.

These tips are very simple and affective. You can do it yourself and can start right away. If you’re ready, let’s dive into the 3 Mood Uplifting Tips to Help You Stay Happy.

    1

    Surround yourself with funny people

Funny people have one thing in common, which is that they can make a joke about anything and  make you laugh. Laughing is a great remedy to beat the blues. By trying to surround yourself with friends who can make you laugh will definitely help increase your joy.

If you can’t find them in person, I recommend watching funny shows. This is a good alternative that can help you stay happy.

    2

    Only listen to happy songs

Songs can play an important role in changing your state of mind and mood. Have you noticed yourself when listening to a sad song? You tend to switch your mood to a sad state. We don’t want that to happen in this case, so you should only listen to happy and uplifting songs.

I recommend to take time and put together a happy playlist. So when ever you feel down you have the right tools to help you get back on being happy again.

    3

    Connect with nature

A good way to beat your sadness is to connect with nature. Believe it or not, nature can heal your emotions on a deeper level and you have no idea when it happens, you just feel happier.

A Stanford-led study finds quantifiable evidence that walking in nature could lead to a lower risk of depression. (source)

Listening to birds chirping, feeling the nice breeze on your skin, hearing the leaves on the tree shaking through the wind, feeling the warm rays of sunshine on your skin, laying down to look at the stars at night and the activity list goes on.

When you feel down or in a sad mood, take yourself out in nature to de-stress and realize all the beauty around you. If you live near the park, go for a walk there. If you live near the mountains, go for a hike there. If you live near the beach, go for a walk and listen to the waves there. Just get yourself out in nature and you will find yourself feeling much better.

What if you live in a busy city with no nearby parks? You can build your own nature by creating a garden to connect with. Find some plants and arrange a small area in your home to create your happy corner. The best part is that your happy corner is only a few steps away.

What do you normally do to beat those blues?

Remember that when you’re felling down, there will be ways to lift you up. You have to find the right action to take, the one that makes you happy, you know what it is. In this case I recommend 3 ways, be with a funny crowd, only listen to happy music and stay connected with nature. If you can do all three that will be amazing. These actions will keep you far away from the blues.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I hope you get some new tips to work on your blues next time it rises up, (hopefully your blues won’t last long).

5 Tips to Staying Positive with Insecurities After Baby

5 Tips to Staying Positive with Insecurities After Baby

Taking care of baby is a lot of fun and hard work at the same time. But taking care of your body and mind after baby can some times feel even harder. In this post, I’m sharing with you 5 tips to staying positive and loving your postnatal body. It’s your ability to stay focused on your baby and yourself to make both of your lives and memories even more beautiful.

Find out my stories and thoughts in this post.

Getting pregnant for the first time was hard. Losing belly fat from pregnancy  is even harder for me especially when I went under the knife for a C-section. There are certain concerns when working out on your abdominal.

I keep complaining to my husband about my pooch. I stressed out over it and end up feeding my stress with comfort food. It’s been almost three months and I have been putting more weight on instead of losing them.

At two months postpartum, we did this photoshoot. My husband spotted a side road area where wildflowers were growing. This spot was gorgeously beautiful with yellow flowers. So we thought why not make it the background of our photos?!

I wore this coral tie front mini dress, tan espadrille platform sandals and a crossbody bag. I have picked a few similar dresses for you below.

The color of my dress contrasted with the bright yellow flowers and the blue sky perfectly. We stopped there for about 10 mins to capture the beautiful nature.

When looking through the photos, all of them are beautiful except my belly that ruined them! I thought to myself, should I not use them on my blog. Should I photoshop my belly out, which I had no idea how to do it.  After a long talk with myself I came to realize that I can’t let a small imperfection stop me from sharing the nature’s beauty to you guys. I shouldn’t stop sharing what I love, creating content, with all of you. So here you go, the photos I picked from the session.

Because I was worry about how I would look, I forgot that I just gave birth to my baby. I almost feed my insecurity by avoiding it.

I think that if you can accept yourself and slowly work on your body and mind, there won’t be anything to stop you from success. If you want to look good, you have to work for it.

Knowing that there’s no success overnight but if you put your mind to it and start working towards it, you will for sure have success in your goals.

To help you deal with and eliminate your postnatal body issues, I shared below the 5 Tips to Staying Positive with Insecurities After Baby.

    1. KNOW YOUR BODY

You should get to know your new body and mind before you start any workouts or diet plans. Either this is your body after your first, second, third or (put your own number here) baby, you need to get to know your new you. Your body is different every time.

I remembered my body and my mind after my first C-Section, they weren’t the same as this second time around. I felt more stressed out and worried about everything for my first one. My body and mind weren’t synchronized properly. I needed help from my husband when using the bathroom, taking a shower for so many weeks. I didn’t start working out until 6 months later. The recovery time was longer but the pain was less than this time. Weird! I think my mind just couldn’t handle the pain good enough.

With this second time around, I took a shower myself at the hospital at two days after my surgery. At about two week postnatal, I was already working on a campaign. I even climbed up on a ladder but only half way to the top, after realizing I shouldn’t risk falling off the roof only for a pretty picture. I just gave birth via a C-Section, I needed to give my body a break. Plus, having my husband put the ladder up backwards didn’t help either! Lol!

If you know your body and mind, you will be in control in everything you do. Use this time to get to know your new self and start doing what makes your body and mind comfortable and happy.

    2. NEVER COMPARE

Comparing is harsh. I sometimes second compare myself with others. I know it’s Wrong! You should never want to compare yourself with anyone else with anything. Your life is your life. Their life is theirs. You know what I mean. Even though you might have friends who just gave birth at the same time, or at a closer time to yours, but you aren’t the same person. What works for them, might not work for you. Your mind might be stronger but maybe your body just couldn’t take it. No one is better than the other.

Respect and love your body by stop comparing with others.

Instead of comparing, you can look at them as your inspiration. Ask them for tips and stay connected for support and positive advice. Try to stay away from those who hurt your feelings.

Remember that you know what you’re doing and you are the only person that understands your needs, wants, body, soul and mind.

    Seek for inspiring not comparing.

    3. BE PATIENT

It’s good to keep in mind that it will be a long process, no such thing as a success overnight. It took 9 months to grow your tiny baby in you. If you can give yourself at least nine months to get back to your normal pre-baby self again that would be awesome.

Learn to be patient. Take it slow, one day at a time. Take your before photo and a few months later take another photo. At the end of your process, take your after photos to see how far you have come. You will be proud of yourself.

    Just remember to be patient.

    4. LOVE AND CARE

Do it for you because you love and care for yourself. You have to make yourself happy and healthy first so you sure can take care of your baby and others.

Self care is a big thing these days. Take some time of your day or week to treat yourself with what you love. Either watching a movie, eating your favorite treats, cooking healthy meals, getting a facial, or just taking a nap. You have to feed your mind and body with what you love to stay balanced and happy.

Tell yourself how grateful and loved you are when you wake up and before bed. It’s a good reminder that you deserve everything you want and put your mind to. The strength will keep you going and help you stay on tract.

Love will help you achieve anything.

    .

    5. POSITIVE THOUGHTS

Stop complaining and start doing is a big step you should be taking. By having positive thoughts within you, will help you get through the down days. Do you know that the more complaints you have, the more stress you will get? And the more stress you get, the less effective you will be.

Like I mentioned earlier in tip number 2 to surround yourself with positive and inspiring people. It’s so important to surround yourself with good vibes. These can uplift your mind and energy.

When I have negative people around, I tend to feel down and can’t get things done. Sometimes other people’s negative energy can really affect how you feel. For me personally, I pick up bad energy easier than others, even though I’m a super positive person but other bad energy can burn me out.

Trying to avoid negativity and staying positive about your process will take you far. Knowing what you do is good for yourself and will help you love your body and make you proud of yourself even more.

Share with me your thoughts on BODY POSITIVITY:

How are you dealing with your body insecurities?

In conclusion, remember not to push yourself too hard, know your body, never compare and take one step at a time. Always do it for you with love and care in mind. And always start your journey with positive thoughts.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I hope you find this post helpful.

Spring Dresses | Facing Your Fears

Spring Dresses | Facing Your Fears

I don’t know about you but I can feel the energy around me is starting to change and this happens every time the new season arrives. This spring I’m feeling the growth, freshness, more love and passion are in the air. It might be because the flowers are starting to bloom or that the other day I saw these cute bird couples were helping each other find some leaves to make their new nests in the trees. One couple were in my front yard and the other one were in my backyard. How adorable is that, right?

    It’s Spring!

My dormant grass is now starting to come back to live once again after a long winter sleep. Now everything around me is filled with greater excitement and joy including my family that we were just welcoming our new bundle of joy, our second daughter, Aveena, (watch our family moments here). I have to say that I really love all the good vibes spring is bringing to all of us.

Since I’m now about 90% recovered from my repeat C-section, it will be a six week mark tomorrow and I’m so ready to rock and roll with anything that comes my way. I have some fears that I was trying to avoid for so long. I’m now going to stop and face those fears. I know you might have some too but hear me out, life is too short to be afraid and to stop yourself from fulfilling happiness in to your life. You should stop wasting your time escaping and avoiding whatever you are afraid of. Let this season be a starting point of the end of your fears. Start one fear at a time and start small. I promise I’m going to do this with you.

    Eliminate Fears

What I suggest you to do is to list all your fears, figure out what’s causing them and what you are missing out when having those fears. Then write down ways to help you face your fears and how you would feel if those fears are gone. Next step is implementing those steps. Try recording your achievements every day. If one way doesn’t work, don’t worry! Sit back, relax and try a different way to face your fears. You will live without them soon because you are taking action to make them go away.

    My Blogging Fear

One of the fears I had as I started to blog was no one would like my style. So I tried to dress like other girls who were cool and popular on social media. I got clothes that I would only wear to take pictures, I wore once for like 30 minutes and never worn them again. I couldn’t imagine myself wearing those outfits and walking around the street or to go to a movie theatre. What a waste of money and time spent to try to be someone else who I’m not.

    Being Unique

As my blog has grown, I have come to realize that there is no point of having a blog unless I use it as a tool to connect with others through my own style and thoughts. But in opposite, I used it to become someone else who I’m not. All this nonsense had to stop. What happened next was me becoming happier at blogging more than ever. I have so many styles I love. I’m made of different personalities. I’m sure you can resonate with this too. One day I can dress whimsy. The next day I can be a classy girl. Or I can dress like an edgy 90s cool kid. Those are totally me. I admit I can’t stick to only one style like a lot of people. I’m full of everything!

I often get comments saying “I love your unique style.”. Sometimes I’m like, is that a compliment?. Haha! Whatever! If they love it that’s good enough for me.

    Style and Fears

Let’s get back to spring a little bit. As I talk about style and fear earlier, why don’t you take advantage of the beginning of this spring season to deal with your fashion and style fears first. Think about one item in your closet that you were afraid to wear. Ask yourself why and try to find a way to fix your fears, get that piece of clothing on you! It shouldn’t be that hard. If you can do it, I have a surprise gift box filled with goodies for one of you who can fix and face your fears. Keep on reading to find out how you can win them. Is that encouraging enough?

    Enter My Giveaway

If that’s not enough, at the end of this blog post I‘m teaming together with a group of bloggers to give our readers a chance to win a $750 Nordstrom Gift Card. The contest starts today and will end on Tuesday, April 9th at 12am PST. If you want to be a part of this giveaway, you can enter at the bottom of this post. Good luck! 🙂

Let’s get back on track here. Fears and style. I’m always afraid of wearing spaghetti straps. I’m so insecure of my arms and armpits. Oh wow, I’m already proud of myself of saying it and being so real on my space. Here I am wearing one in this blog post.

    Spring-Dresses-_-Facing-Your-Fear_allaboutgoodvibes.com-Molly-Larsen-Style-blogger-Tucson-Arizona-Thai

I’m also afraid of wearing a non fitted dress with only an inch above the knee length. It always makes me look shorter. But here I am wearing that type of dress too.

    Spring-Dresses-_-Facing-Your-Fear_allaboutgoodvibes.com-Molly-Larsen-Style-blogger-Tucson-Arizona-Thai

I guarantee you, you will be able to get rid of your fears if you feel good about the process and you start believing in yourself. And believing that you can do it too!

I don’t want this post to be longer than this, because it’s already too long. But I want to give you some quick spring tips on how to pick your spring dresses.

These two simple tips are not new and I’m sure you have heard of them before. In case you forgot, I’m bringing them up to remind you to start wearing them now.

    Wear Bright

Either red, pink, green, yellow or orange. Pick one color that you like most and start your bright spring journey from there. Bright colors often bring uplifting energy and make your day more fun. Notice it next time you wear something bright.

I know of a lot people who don’t like wearing bright colors and only stick with white and black. If you are one of them, loosen yourself up a bit and enjoy the bright side of fashion. You will feel a lot better. Just don’t let those fear stop you.

    Choose Floral Prints

This is a no brainer of a choice. It’s spring and it’s the season of flowers. Having a few pieces of floral print is a good way to add spring to your closet. If you want to add some femininity and sweetness to your style this season, choosing floral prints are always a good idea.
