Yes, it’s finally time to bring that glitter out hibernation because this post is about NYE makeup. I love NYE! It’s one of the only nights of the year that the dress code is ‘go crazy’. To make this look perfect for NYE I used the two fundamentals of dramatic makeup: black and glitter.
It can be hard to compete with all the beautifully executed makeup looks at every turn on NYE. Especially if, like me, you’re no makeup expert. So, I’m here to present to you this SUPER easy but still super dramatic makeup look that hopefully you’ll love to wear to your party of choice on NYE.
My Products:
Naked palette ‘creep’
Naked palette ‘virgin’
KIKO High Pigment Wet and Dry Eyeshadow Shade 44
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘London’
BareMinerals Original Foundation (my shade is fairly light)
SLEEK Makeup Brow Kit in Light 817
Collection Fast Stroke Defining Lash Waterproof Mascara
Collection Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner
Collection Bronze Glow Ultimate Sunkissed
Boots Essentials Natural False Eyelashes
NARS Eyeliner Stylo
Bare Minerals Prime Time Primer
Remember it’s not essential to buy all the products for this look. Obviously, for it to look EXACTLY like mine the best option would be to have the same products as me. However, you can always substitute for similar products you already have at home to create a look that’s just as good!
So, let’s get started!
Apply primer across the whole face including eyelids.
Apply foundation evenly across face and cover up any blemishes using concealer (I use a little BareMinerals with a tiny drop of water, it’s good I promise).
Start with a flat brush and apply ‘Creep’ to the whole lid.
Take the KIKO powder with a fluffy brush, blend into the crease and right up to the brow bone.
With a smaller brush apply a little virgin right under the brow and at the outer corner of the eye.
Apply winged eyeliner.
Trace the top line of the eyeliner with the silver glitter.
Apply mascara and false eyelashes.
Taking a large fluffy brush apply bronzer in a circular motion to the top of the forehead, bringing it down to the temples, cheekbones and finally the jawbone.
Use the London lip cream on the lips.
VOILA!
A whole NYE look in ten steps… I told you it was super easy.
I hope you like this look and find it easy enough to complete. Let me know what you think!

Hi I’m Jess, I’m an animal lover from Leeds, U.K. I started my blog because I hated the idea of animal testing for beauty products and wanted to make a difference. I felt that if I could make it easy for people to use cruelty free, I could inspire people to stop using products tested on animals. So, I started to create reviews and easy tutorials that anyone could follow. I’m also working on expanding my blog to include vegetarian health and fitness in the future.
The holidays are coming and making plans is just as stressful as figuring out what to wear. Depending on where you live, it could be chilly on the most celebrated night of the year. It might not be practical or comfortable to wear a dress that evening. Especially if you are going to a bar that will be packed like a can of sardines. That’s why you should consider wearing pants and a blazer. You can be comfortable and still be stylish. Velvet is the BIGGEST trend and it comes in all forms. As well as this Tahari ASL blazer. If you are feeling extra festive, you could pair it with velvet pants. I went with a simpler look in black dress pants. To achieve a sexier look, you could switch out my Banana Republic blouse for a silk cami (or bra if you’re adventurous). To give this outfit some color I am wearing these burgundy French Connection oxfords and Mac lipstick in Diva. I’m also wearing Calvin Klein fishnet socks to add an extra textural element. Save time and stress by copying this look. That way you can plan a night you’ll never forget.

My style is menswear inspired with a feminine twist. I purchased my first blazer in high school and never turned back. I believe it’s the easiest way to elevate a look. I’ve vowed to never wear a dress or skirt again, only because I simply do not feel like myself in them. Miss. Unladylike is a fashion blog for women who seek an alternative style.
One thing that I love the most about New Year’s Eve are the fireworks. I think that night has the most fireworks at once of all the holidays. It’s all the beautiful bright colors and designs that the fireworks display into the dark night’s sky that makes you even more excited about the upcoming year.
As you know, New Year’s Eve events are all about sparkles and shiny design, so one of today’s outfit items I picked is a fashion item that will help sparkle the party a bit. I picked up this oversized sequined design tee featuring a “Forever Or Never” graphic on the front from Forever 21. If you’re going on a date night, this out will be perfect. Just to give your date a hint “Forever or Never”, I hope he will pick the right choice.
I’m wearing this tee underneath a V-cut neckline slip dress. This will tone down the boldness of the tee with a swing style silhouette. You want to be fun and adorable at the same time, right! Not to mention the available space for you to add more food in your tummy! This outfit is perfect for both food and fun!
I can’t let only my shirt sparks on this night that’s why I’ve picked the patent transparent heel ankle boots to add some more shine to this outfit. These boots are so comfortable and the transparent heels are really adding fun to the whole look.
Also I don’t really like carry a big bag with me to the party so I choose my Mini Eartha Crossbody to go with this outfit.
If you are in love with my boots like I am, you can take a look and get them from missguidedus.com. Here I have a link that you can get $20 off when you place your first order over $80, click the picture below or here.
The big week is coming, make sure to get a lot of rest and get ready for the fun this upcoming week my loves! Please come back tomorrow for more outfit ideas from my guest. I will see you again soon!
“”I know what women want. They want to be beautiful.”
I truly believe that every girl should get dressed up for a New Year’s Eve Party. My friend and I believe that if you’re ever going to have a reason to wear a 100% gold sequined skirt, it’s at a New Year’s Eve Party.
I’m from Toronto and it tends to be snowing around New Year’s Eve so most girls probably wouldn’t wear a short skirt and a lace crop top, but if you love something it’s worth a little bit of pain. Just because a Princess is in a skirt and a lace crop top, doesn’t mean she isn’t tough.
This is literally my favorite crop top. It has a subtle layer of pink under the white that looks great against everyone’s skin tone. Of course I never leave the house without swiping on some lipstick. For a New Year’s Eve Party, a shiny and glossy red is the perfect choice to make my lips pop.
One of my favourite buys recently is my blazer cape. I picked up this gorgeous piece at the Toronto’s woman show from a store called TOFARA that promotes high-end modern African dresses and African jewelry. It makes me feel luxurious and a bit like modern Royalty.
I finished my outfit with a sparkly clutch. This bag had removable straps which I thought would be perfect for the look. Since I was already wearing a cape, I felt straps would be distracting from it.
I wanted to include more glitter I painted my nails a metallic color, and painted my ring fingers with a glitter polish.
I wore a pair of Mary Janes high heels, but feel free to rock a pair of glittery heels if it pleases you.
Hello, I am The Picky Princess; a blogger based out of Toronto, Canada.
I recently graduated from the University of Toronto Scarborough where I studied a Major in Media Studies and a Double Minor in Economics and English. I would never trade my university experience for anything. Two months after finishing my last semester, I started studying at The Toronto Film School in Marketing for Fashion & Entertainment. I take the things that I learn from my life experiences like travelling, my university experience and the things that I learn in class to help pick out good products, and styles.
Papa Kwong actually picked the name of the blog. Why The Picky Princess? I am one of the pickiest people around! I know what I like and, it is extremely hard to change my mind once I have had it set. I hope that you not only find humor, but some great advice and stories selected by yours truly.
Did you ever want to feel like a celebrity? Or maybe you want to channel your inner Kardashian? Well this dress can make you feel like a million bucks even though it’s less than $50!
This New Year’s Eve I’d say resolve to stay away from the usual LBD (little black dress, that is) and go with a pop of color! This mauve dress with a knot placed as a center point focus accentuates your top half and hides your mid section that creates a seamless silhouette. And it doesn’t hurt that it shimmers either!
I paired this gorgeous maxi with cheetah print heels, and I’ll let you know, if you don’t already know, spiked stilettos may not be the best party shoe but they make for a great photo opportunity! So, if you opt for a more comfortable heel, by all means, DO! Unfortunately, the shoes I am wearing are no longer available because I purchased these a year ago, but I have similar shoes linked below!
